Template Type Name label

    Hi guys,

    This page:
    http://campsite-dev.sourcefabric.org/admin/article_types/add .php?Back=%2Fadmin%2Farticle_types%2F
    says:

The name field may only contain letters and the underscore (_) character.

    Name:

This makes no distinction between Template Name and Display Name. It
would be clearer to label this:

The Template Name field may only contain letters and the underscore (_)
    character.

    Template Name:

    In other places (such as
    http://campsite-dev.sourcefabric.org/admin/article_types/ ) this is
referred to as a Template Type Name. Is that a more accurate label?

    Cheers!

    Daniel

  • When you add a new article type you define the template name (article type
template name). Later you can define display names in different language by
translate. Same for fields (field template name - field display name)

    Hi Mugur,

Thanks for the swift reply :-)

Right, but the 'Add new article type' page just says 'The name field'
and 'Name:', it doesn't make clear that this is for the template name,
    rather than the display name.

I've tried to make this clearer in the manual.

    Cheers!

If it's not clear to you, then it's not clear to most people. So we should
    change the strings accordingly.

I'm trying to think about it from the point of view of an editor or
journalist who doesn't understand templates at all.

It's also an issue on the 'Add new field' page. If I enter a field name
with a space in it, I get an error message, but it's not clear to the
end user why this should be a wrong thing to do. A minor issue, but I
think tweaking these things can add up to a better user experience.

    Cheers!
