VPS vs Laptop in the mountain.
  • i want to start a radio broadcast station not only on internet also to broadcast through the air. i am reading examples about how to install Airtime in a VPS to be managed the radio station by the users. But my idea is to have a laptop in the room at the mountain tip from where i will broadcast, so, for that, i run airtime in this laptop with a conection to internet ADSL and connected directly to the FM transmitter in the room.

I dont know if it is the best way because i also want to stream on internet with and external streaming professional server.

Can someone advice me about the most convenience way to do it?

Maybe the other way that i have the airtime installed in a VPS and streaming directly to my room at the mountain. The problem is if the sreaming on internet failed the radio will not broadcast to the air from the room.

NOTE: the connection at the room in the mountain is an ADSL of 3Mb. maximun down speed and almost 600Kb. for up speed.

    Thanks a lot.

Laptop on the mountain sounds better, because of the backup in case the
    network goes down.

And then relay your stream to a stream rebroadcaster who can handle many
    listeners.
