Airtime 1.6 RC1 is released
  • Dear Airtime dev list,

We're pleased to announce the release of Airtime 1.6 RC1. Head over to http://airtime.sourcefabric.org to read up on the latest features, check out the demo or download the zip file and install for yourself. It's not yet 100% production ready, but the team will be working very hard over the next fortnight to get everything in line for the February 14th release.

    Feedback, as ever, much appreciated.

    Best, Adam

Works good. I had to remove the 000-default link from /etc/Apache2/sites-enabled and then my page appeared. Before the code in /etc/Apache2/sites-available was in the default file so it didn't matter.

I guess the now playing, schedule execution part is next to be developed?

I couldn't delete the first playlist I entered. Maybe because it was during the current time frame?

Also if you try to edit a scheduled playlist it says there is nothing there.

Nice to have the drag an drop but the audio library needs better organization.

I'm sure you have a long list of features to implement already.

The Now Playing and Scheduled execution works already. After you add a
show, right click on it and go to "Schedule". Then drag and drop your
    playlists into the show.

I'm guessing you are referring to the first show you entered? (There is a
difference between a Show and a Playlist). You cant delete shows in the
past or ones that have already started.

Not sure what you are referring to here? Care to attach a screenshot?

How would you like to see it organized?

  • Hi Paul,

    Thanks for your response.

I understand now the difference between playlists and shows. I was trying to schedule the playlists in the scheduler but in fact that is where you schedule the host, show name and when it runs. So now I have my playlists in the show list.

I had also scheduled the shows to run whole weeks to fill up the calendar which is why I had the problem of not being able to go back and edit my show's contents. If I don't fill them with playlists before they go to air, I can't go back and change it until the show is done. One option is to schedule shorter shows but there seemed to be no way to take a scheduled show off or edit it while on air. I guess if I had filled in the content first, I could have edited it but once it was live and still empty I was stuck.

As for the audio library, categories or folders would be useful so you could group content like genres of music, or elements for specific shows rather than hunt through the list. Also if the playlists could all show up in their own folder or be sorted when a button was clicked, etc.

As for the Audio Library, we will have a modernized version of this:
