RE: [campsite-dev] Yet another term for automatic publishing: Publishing Schedule
  • clicking to publishing schedule I would expect a list of rules or calendar
displaying all articles and their publish times.

If I shall choose, Sheduled Publishing is better.

Which is better: "Scheduled Publishing" or "Publishing Schedule"?

"Scheduled publishing" implies the whole general kit of publishing stuff
    what and when
"Publishing schedule" implies a (singular) schedule, which as Ondra sais
is a list of rules or a calendar or whatnot.

    Other terms you might use:
    publishing programme
    publishing plan
    publishing timetable
    article scheduling
    edition scheduling

Publishing timetable/plan ain't bad at all. Hm, hm.... It would work
nicely in Serbian as Raspored/Plan objavljivanja, for example... But for
now, let's just stick to Scheduled publishing, unless everybody else
prefers John's latest suggestion in a major way.

    Paul,

Those master, issue, and article publishing are great ideas, but for our
current functionality, let's then stick to "Scheduled publishing"

BTW, I know the translations can take any form. The localizer is my baby
too Wink The issue here is that it is good to give a nice lead to the
translators, if possible. That was behind my thinking.

    Schedule

It sounds like you guys think that the main screen showing all the stuff
that is to be published (which doesnt exist yet), should be called
"Publishing Schedule". But will it be confusing to have the individual
screens where you schedule individual items (articles, issues), be
    called "Scheduled Publishing"?

Or, we could use another adjective to describe these different
activities, though they become rather long:

    Master Publishing Schedule
    Article Publishing Schedule
    Issue Publishing Schedule

Or simply differentiate between "Master Publishing Schedule" and call
all other ones "Publishing Schedule". (And substitute "Timetable" for
"Schedule" if you like that word better). In this case, the words
"Article" and "Issue" are implied because you are on the Article or
    Issue screen already.

Sava, the translations can use any term that works best in that language
    - it doesnt have to be a direct translation.
