airtime-liquidsoap constantly restarts (partially fixed)
  • I've got 2.5.1 installed on a Debian 7 AMD64 VPS (I followed the "automated installation" instructions). Airtime-liquidsoap was constantly restarting (about every 1-3 minutes), even without anything playing. A thorough combing of the logs didn't get me anywhere, but I did find that if I reinstalled liquidsoap (using apt-get install --reinstall liquidsoap), the liquidsoap process stops crashing and seems to work normally. If I reboot, however, it doesn't stay fixed. Does anybody have an idea towards a better fix?

  • I've got an install on another machine working...hopefully I can replicate on this one (the other machine isn't powerful enough for actual use).
  • VPS might not be able to handle it...
  • Yeah after a thorough investigation I think the problem is that this VPS host is under too heavy of use. It works fine on a different one.
  • You should seriously check out digital ocean and vultr
  • I've moved from the $6/mo VPS to a $3/mo one that works a million times better. Go figure.
