PHP parse errors - Newscoop Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

I am not really sure is this has to do with bugs in the php code, or wheather my server is just screwing up, but I am getting blank pages every time I try to do anything remotely related to articles (edit, create, etc.). I checked the error logs, and I get these errors when I try to edit and create:

I am running on a Red Hat AS4 server with PHP version 4.3.9.

I have tried messing about with more permissions, but I always get served a totally blank page along with a new line in the log. Thanks alot for everyone's help!
