Subdomain touched by Campsite - Newscoop Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

Hi,

the setup is/was as follows:

1. http://www.domain.com = publication Campsite 3.3.1
2. http://forum.domain.com = a forum software (phpBB)

#2 is a subdomain.

So after setting up Campsite on the main domain I discover that it has somehow "mislaid" all paths to a certain folder in the subdomain, which - by all rights - it should not do anything with.

The path it affected was something like

http://forum.domain.com/styles/subsilver2/imageset/en/button _topic_new.gif

whereas

http://forum.domain.com/images/icons/smile/mrgreen.gif

remained unaffected.

Now, the forum subdomain should be left entirely in peace by Campsite. How can I achieve this?

Check the ServerName parameter in each VirtualHost configurations. For campsite it should be like:

ServerName domain.name
ServerAlias www.domain.name

for forum

ServerName forum.domain.com

I solved this by using another domain. With Cpanel settings on a normal host it wasn't possible rsp. too much of a hassle.

Hi Andrey,

I cannot get anything to install past 3.3.6 and that I can only install as an update of 3.3.1.

All later versions crash the VPS.

I need to get _one_ version working asap now, which is why I try to get the classic templetae to work on 3.3.6. After I achieved that I can give you ready access to a typical shared hosting access so that you can have a go yourself, if you want to test that.

As of now, Newscoop is unusable for me.
