Airtime configuration
  • Hi folks, thank you for the drag and drop function in Airtime it's so much nicer:)

I'm having the following issues with my install. Can you help please?

First thing is I can't play any audio. I can view the media library and create playlists with whats already there but I can't upload files either. See image below.

Also I can't add playlists to scheduler.

finally I can't edit any sound prefs.

Do I also need to install liquidsoap or something? Installing from Source is not something I'm familiar with. And some steps in the 'manual' were not as expected

Finally if I'm posting in the wrong forum just say it. Should I perhaps report as bugs or something?

Thanks and keep up the trojan work

  • Hi John,

By default the software is setup to output to icecast server, which allows streaming over the internet. You can get sound on your speakers by connecting to the icecast server running on your machine with VLC or mplayer. We should have full support for outputting directly to the soundcard in 2 weeks time for the Release Candidate Smile.

    The line that says:
    "mplayer http://localhost:8000/airtime.mp3"
is what allows you to hear what is being played.

  • Hi Martin & Paul,

Thanks for quick response. Getting the sound from Icecast wouldn't be a problem if I could just play something.

    Theres no play button?
I can't add anything to scheduler.
    I can't upload files.

    Hi,

Have you set this in your php.ini file?

    upload_tmp_dir =/tmp

this is most likely the problem preventing you from uploading audio.

To schedule a playlist go to the "Schedule" page in the menu, then on the top left above the calendar click "Add Show". Once you have created a show then you can add your playlists. There isn't a play button, the scheduler will just start playing music when you have scheduled it.
