[campsite-support] CentOS 3.7 install
  • Good afternoon,

    I'm trying to test out campsite, since it seems to be exactly the product I need. However when installing the install fails on the xml library 2.6.10 (CentOS 3.7 is still on libxml2-2.5.10). I've Googled around for that library for centOS 3.7 but I can't find it. Does anyone know a workaround for this. Thanks in advance!

  • I moved it to the main folder,
    Must I tell campsite where to find it?
    How I do that?

    Ren
  • no, simply remove old phpwrapper from /look and remove htaccess file.
    Than extract latest version of phpwrapper to /
    and put latest .htaccess to / as well.
    Note, that original file is named htaccess and need to be renamed
    to .htaccess

    And all the time I am talking about /usr/local/campsite/www/instancename

  • I dont know of a workaround for it, but version 3.0 of campsite, coming out
    at the beginning of November, will not have this dependency. (Mugur - any
    ideas?)

  • Remove the default package and install libxml 2.6 from sources. There is no
    other workaround, Campsite really needs the version 2.6 of libxml.

  • Good evening,

    After your suggestions, I moved to a centos 4.3 box, which should have everything on board..

    However, when I'm trying to install I'm getting this error "Could not find mysqlclient library. Please install mysql-devel package" which refers to mysql-devel but this is allready installed..

    "package MySQL-devel-5.0.19-0.glibc23 is already installed"

    Any idea's??

    Greets,
  • Please create a text file with the following content:

    #include
    int main()
    {
    MYSQL* mysql;
    mysql_init(mysql);
    }
    // end of file

    Name the file mysql-test.cpp and run the following command:
    g++ -o mysql-test mysql-test.cpp -lm -lz -lmysqlclient

    Please post the output of this command here. Question: did you install by
    chance another MySQL instance from sources instead of standard packages?

    Regards,
    Mugur

  • Hey Mugur,

    Thanks for your response. Do I need to create the mysql-test file in a specific category? I created it in root and when running the command I saw it created a mysql-test file, but with some unreadable stuff in it..

    "Question: did you install by
    chance another MySQL instance from sources instead of standard packages"

    To be honest, I don't know, I didn't install the server.

    Greets,
  • Hey Mugur,

    I took another look and Mysql is located at /usr/lib/mysql/

    And in that dir these packages are installed:

    libmysqlclient_r.so libmysqlclient_r.so.15.0.0 libmysqlclient.so.15
    libmysqlclient_r.so.15 libmysqlclient.so libmysqlclient.so.15.0.0

    and located as well in /usr/lib64/mysql/

    There these packages are installed:

    ibdbug.a libmysqlclient.a libmysys.a libz.la
    libheap.a libmysqlclient.la libndbclient.a mysqld.sym
    libmygcc.a libmysqlclient_r.a libndbclient.la
    libmyisam.a libmysqlclient_r.la libvio.a
    libmyisammrg.a libmystrings.a libz.a

    The installing error:

    Testing install configuration...OK
    Please wait while checking modules configuration...
    Checking DATABASE module dependencies...OK
    Checking PARSER module dependencies.../usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0xf4): In function `my_compress_alloc':

    : undefined reference to `uncompress'
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    Could not find mysqlclient library. Please install mysql-devel package.
    Could not find mysqlclient library. Please install mysql-devel package.
    There is a dependency problem. Please read the previous message and
    install the required program/package.

    I hope this gives you some more info in this error. I hope to get this solved soon! Thanks in advance.

    Greets,
  • Please remove the 64 bit libraries see the error:
    /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0xf4): In function
    `my_compress_alloc': undefined reference to `compress'

    Let me know if this fixed your problem,
