I've compiled the latest SVN version (revision 3289) on my Kubuntu Feisty
laptop, and I can report that it's working well, with nested playlists and
all. I haven't given it super-hard tasks in terms of several levels of
nesting... I was about to do that, with a super-long list that I was going
to leave playing until the next day, but the playlist editor didn't seem to
like it... Will retry to do a 3 hour list next day and file the bug (please
feel free to beat me to it, esp. Ferenc .
The only thing I can say about playback is that I seem to detect small gaps
and (occasionally tiny clicks) between different tracks, but the console
reports times such as:
[GstreamerPlayer] END__: virtual void
LiveSupport::PlaylistExecutor::GstreamerPlayer::start() - Took 0.00089s
gLiveSupport: Live Mode playing audio clip 'Dusted'
Maybe it's the yet unimplemented crossfade (animation) at work... In any
case, great work Nebojsa!
I have noticed that storage facility sometimes locks up and wouldn't let me save play lists properly. It gets really weird and unreliable. This is NOT related to new playlist mechanism and most likely exists in old version as well.
I have just successfully played triple nested playlist.
If you experience problems with playlist creation and such, please clean up the database and start from scratch. Storage problems should be addressed as well but they are not to be confused with playback problems.
I will hook up error reporting for my code today to help you with problem detection.
It's good to know gst-plugin-good does wave, flac, oss and taglib.

And gst-plugins-bad does mpeg, aac, real, rtp, jack, metadata, shout,
audioresample, equalizer and spectrum.
