Re: [campcaster-dev] CC on SuSe?
  • Hi Alban.

It's been a long time since I don't see you.

I've been very busy attending my own business and really have not so
much time to be in my PC. However, I just wanted to mention that I'm
still alive Very Happy and in some weeks I'll be able o restart a new radio
station with the help of my 3 daughters and wife Smile. (family radio
station in Spanish with all kind of contents and music).

I've bought a new Toshiba Satellite P105 Series (with a lot of nice
things) and I've only been able to run SLED 10 (not even K/Ubuntu
(Dapper, Edgy or Feisty). Fedora 5 & 6 made my system almost
unusable Sad. SLED 10.1 was for me the Linux Pinnacle where I could find
almost all out of the box (except a sound issue that made me buy a new
usb SB sound card) the rest is soooo nice Very Happy.

Now, the reason of this email is to request you to port CampCaster
    (http://www.campware.org/en/camp/campcaster_news/) AKA LiveSupport ( 1.1
and 1.2 to SuSE10.1 and 10.2. I was going to try to do this by myself
but I do not have the knowledge (nor the time to learn I'm too old) for
this. What I can do along with you are the manuals set in English (at
least) and possible in Spanish. I will not promise that as far as I I
can only work a few hours during weekends.

As you can see, I'm sending a carbon copy to dev CC ml as this was a
    request made by me.

I hope you find the time to respond this request and to try to help this
    nice community.

    Thanks and Kind Regards

    Luis C. Suarez

  • Hello Luis!  Could you please update this thread when you get the chance??  Did you ever solve this problem.  I too use openSUSE (v 12.2) and have used suse linux a while.  Seems not too much info specific to the commands, directory structure on suse linux to solve these newscoop issues.  PM to me if need be, its OK.  Thanks in advance.  Have A Healthy, Prosperous Day!!  --robert
