We could really use some help in getting some RPMs together for Campcaster.
If you or anyone you know would like to make some, we'd be quite happy
about it.
Well, to be honest, only one time I took the time to make a DEB file 'cause i found a good howto (when using ubuntu BB), I remmeber it took me around a week to be able to do it. I also remember how this nice experience almost made me reformat my LT.
However, I don't know anyone who can do it and to be honest I'd not like to recieve a slapt in the face looking around for WHO will be interested in doing this. Anyhow I will see if there is a "remote" possibility for me to work on this.
As you all know, I've only linux basic/medium skills and I'm not a C or C+ coder. Anyhow, "someplace" I'll find a good HowTo or manual to start working on this during my weekends. If you can enlighten me to find a good HowTo/manual to build RPMs, I'll really appreciate it. Never is too late to learn.
I know making RPMs is not a trivial task, even for someone relatively
experienced with code. One thing I wanted to suggest was to look at
whether Alien could convert the .debs to RPMs semiautomatically, or if
that could possibly be a starting point for you. The issue of
dependencies, however, is something else altogether.

If your reffer to Alan the Freecast code maintainer (Iguess) Letme ask him. It's been long time I don't talk to him and I believe this is a great opportunitty.
What you state about RPMs on how difficult it is and that you need very good linux skills for this.... I'm really aware of this, in fact I've in my hands lots of information for these... and I don't know where to start. I'm so confused that your idea seems to be the best
I'll let you know about this after I talk to hime.
