Hi,
it's really easy with this RDS encoder. You can find basic info at http://pira.cz/rds/rdsdev32.htm , where Example 1 will show you everything
what you may need. Of course, I can answer your questions, if you have
any.
In fact, you must do following:
1) Open the COM port at user selectable speed 1200-9600
2) Send ASCII commands in this form:
Initialization (optional):
DPS1EN=1
RT1EN=1
PS=MY RADIO
For basic text functions it's enough to implement only PS, RT1 and DPS1.
No need to receive the response characters from the RDS encoder.

Subject: Interested in your RDS encoder
Hi,
We make a playout and automation system that runs on Linux, and we're
interested in integrating your RDS encoder with it; is there a way to do
this? We're willing to make the software, but will need to know how. Any
pointers you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
douglas arellanes
