Hi,

My advice as one of the people on the Campcaster team (heck, we're all on
the team, right?) is to hold off for a few more days. Over the weekend we
got a code commit from developer Nebojsa Grujic that looks like it fixed a
showstopper bug for us - that scheduled playlists weren't being played
past the first file. Now that that's been at least fixed/patched, I'll
start to work on .deb packages.

However, I'm running into problems building on Ubuntu Intrepid. There must
be something in the Intrepid dependencies that Campcaster doesn't like,
and I'm not exactly sure what that is. I was, however, able to build on
8.04 Hardy, which is part of the way there. Hopefully Ferenc or someone
else will be able to fix the build problem; once we get that out of the
way I can start to get 1.4 beta packages out.

>From what I noticed today, scheduled playback works quite a bit better
than it did in 1.3, but we're going to need a lot more beta testing before
we can say with confidence that it's stable. If you have Ubuntu Hardy and
are interested in testing, check out our Development Environment wiki page
for instructions on how to build the development environment on your

And as soon as I can get .deb packages built for Intrepid, I'll be sure to

I had a similar problem last week. Here's what a friend told me:

regarding campcaster and ubuntu - i think i would wait until the
repository for 8.10 comes out... you can try installing the .deb files
from here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.phpgroup_id6949&package_id"2168&release_idU0872

the .deb files should install the dependencies automatically.

the issue is really that there isn't an official ubuntu release of
campcaster for 8.10 yet. you can try putting the dapper repository in
there, but i am not sure if it will work:
http://code.campware.org/manuals/campcaster/1.4/index.php?id6

I didn't have any luck with the .deb file link or the dapper repository.
So maybe it is just a matter of waiting until the new release comes out.
