As I only have 1 sound card in my machine and I want to use it to
stream, i've been looking at this guide
    http://code.campware.org/projects/campcaster/wiki/campcasterJack .
Unfortunately, when I enter "jackplug" as my "Live mode audio device" in
campcaster GUI, I get the following message:

"Could not get/set settings from/on resource"

Has anyone managed to use this guide?

  • Hi Luke,

I've followed the steps on the howto exactly as they're written, and
    haven't run into that error.

However, if you just try to change the value in the live mode output to
'jackplug' without doing the other steps, then, yes, you'll get the error
    message.

It's a dumb question, but maybe worth asking: Did you follow all the steps
as they're written on the howto?

  • I've just run through all the steps again but when I try to run

    aplay -D jackplug file.wav

    I get:

aplay: main:550: audio open error: No such file or directory

    However if I use:

    aplay -D hw:0,0 file.wav

    It plays fine

    Any ideas?
