[livesupport-dev] HOWTO Knoppix ISO?
  • for those about to rock the ISO, we salute you. and my kindly ask the following:

in the online manual you will already find some hints for the installation of LS:
    http://code.campware.org/manuals/livesupport/1.0/index.php?id=9

if and when you are going through the process of installing your LS station, any hints and howto information could and should be posted as comments to be included in the manual later. if you write a couple of lines like a small case study on your installation, may that be all in one machine or different flavours inside your station LAN, everybody would benefit and it would help us to rock the manual, too.

    please do.

now over to doug for the UPLOAD! go!

  • Hi Ian,

There is a problem with the ISO. I'm still uploading it, and for whatever
reason the SF.net file release system already thinks it's distributed.

I've filed a ticket with SourceForge about this, and hopefully they'll get
    on it quickly.

    it's 30 x the size.

so what do we do? is there an upload limit on SF? can we place it somewhere
else? any power user with access to academic bandwidth on this list?

if the upload froze, as Doug is reporting, one has to publish the broken
file, delete it from among the published files, and can upload again...
  • Hey, since y'all probably have bandwidth issues, i'm happy to work out a
staging place in my colo (7+gig of connectivity) where you can transfer
it to sourceforge. I can setup ssh or ftp access for a developer to
    stage the sourceforge upload through.

Let me know if that would help.
