[livesupport-dev] localization urls?
  • Hi all,

Our colleagues in Moscow at the FNR Radio Network - especially Andrei
Kirillovich - have kindly agreed to work on Russian localization of
LiveSupport, but he will need to know the URL for the HTML UI localizer, as
well as the text file for gLiveSupport. Seeing as this might be an item for
the FAQ, it might be good to address somewhere, if it isn't already.

Anyway, Andrei will be joining livesupport-dev shortly; in the meantime,
you can contact him at a(at)fnr.ru

    Thanks in advance,

    doug

  • Hi Doug,

The instructions are in the /doc/userLocalizationInstructions.html file
in the repository. They should be available (and will soon, I hope) at

    http://code.campware.org/livesupport-dev/userLocalizationInstructions.html

but at the moment, there is an outdated version at that address because
of a minor migration snafu. Meanwhile, the latest version is available at

    http://code.campware.org/projects/livesupport/file/trunk/livesupport/doc/userLocalizationInstructions.html?format=raw

  • Do you mean the Station (html UI) localizer? The Studio localization
was committed some time ago, and it's working fine as far as I can tell.
(I renamed the file from pl_PL.txt to pl.txt for technical reasons.)

  • Bruno, I did not forget you.
I have to revisit some code in loicalizer to have better handling,
especially a function to waste out old terms, so nobody have to translate
    more than neccesary.

I will contact you if I have it, seems not within this week.
  • Fine, is there a simple way to enhance some words of this translation ?
I mean - users suggestions can make me change my mind sereral
times... Do I have to send the wole file by mail ?

NB: I give up with the instalation of LS on Mandriva. Waiting for
    the live CD...

Yes, I think the easiest way is if you send the whole file, either to
the list or to me directly. It's only 10k, and zipped only 2k.

If you are serious about this, you can ask for repository write access
(ask Akos on this list) and learn how to use Subversion (not difficult).
Then you can edit the /products/gLiveSupport/var/pl.txt file in the
    repository any time you like.

What was the proplem? Both my computer and the development server runs
Mandriva, so it definitely should work. Please open a ticket about this
    so we can help.

  • For localizations of htmlUI I have to please you to hold the horses for some
days. We want you for the match, and anyboy seems just missing the starting
    gun.
Paul Baranovwki, who is a campsite developer, told me that he will finish
his work on the localizer within this week. Software development like
ping-pong, I did the ping a while ago, he pong it to an higher and stable
level, and i will catch it than back to livesupport, which is nice effort
    for us.
So hope you can stay until the peng. The cup goes on soon.

    Thanks,
    Sebastian
