Hi,
I've just installed the RC3 experimental packages, and wanted to pass on
my findings.
First, it's a pleasant surprise to see the elapsed and remaining time in
the master panel ))
Second, the program seems to work a lot faster somehow. Not sure why, but
it just seems more solid.
Third, an interesting config note to all users: it's possible to set the
gLiveSupport.xml settings to use the player "default" instead of
specifying dev/dsp or /dev/dsp1 or whatever. I was getting an error
message saying that /dev/dsp was in use, so wasn't getting any sound out
of the player, but when I changed the gLiveSupport.xml config to use
player "default" I got sound out. Maybe that'll help someone.
Finally, here are the delays I've found so far. Delays still exist.
They're a lot shorter, but still exist.
One playlist had 4 files (2 ogg, 2 mp3) and a duration of 2:17. It had a
delay of 11 seconds.
Another playlist had 3 files (3 ogg) and a duration of 12:26. It had a
delay of 9 seconds.
A third playlist, consisting of 1 ogg and the first playlist, had a
duration of 7:04 and a delay of 17 seconds.

So there's progress, but still not fast enough.
