[livesupport-dev] still package building
  • --- Doug:

I committed some changes to cvs. I think you should start building
packages on your ubuntu system, so that we'll know tomorrow morning if
    there are any errors.

    --- Tomas:

I found the reason why the scheduler installation did not work on
ls-demo (62.44.9.210): many packages were marked "to install, not
installed", among others sysv-rc, which handles the init script
    installation. It had

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Jun 10 13:06 /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d -> /bin/true

I wonder where that came from.

I am installing the missing packages now; unfortunately, it has a slow
386kbit/s connection, so it will take some time, and I'll only be able
to start a new package build late tonight.

--- To whom it might concern:

I removed all manual init script (un)installation, and set it to use
dh_installinit instead. If you know why it was done manually, you
should tell me ASAP, so I can put it back if necessary.

    *** I've only noticed it's binary, not script - mea culpa ...
And I was surprised that it does completely nothing Smile
