    even though we haven't heard from ferenc (hey, if the machine does not
    boot, how couldhe check mail?) i think we collectively arrived at the
    decision to go with gstreamer for the 1.0 release.

    having said this: tonight does not seem to be the long night of the release
    party. but a quiet friday afternoon tea party might be in order?

    akos, you know best about the implications of your hercules effort to get
    gstreamer working in time for the 1.0 release. could you please assign
    tasks to ferenc and if necessary sebastian for adjustments and testing?

    sebastian, could you try to contact akos and pull the latest sources for
    some test install on your machine?

    and andres, since you suddenly came out of the dark to tip the decision in
    favour of gstreamer, do you think you could do a test install tomorrow?

    I could do some test building tomorrow, pulling cvs right now. Are
    install docs reflecting less or more correct procedures to build the beast?

    another question akos knows best. i will be offline for two hours, moving
    from the office to home. will be back online then.
