  • Hi Nathan:

We're glad to hear you are interested in Campsite!

To demo the administration interface, go to:
    http://cs-dev.campware.org/admin
    Username: admin
    Password: admn00

In the admin interface you can add articles and change the look of the
    site, among other things.

To see the frontpage, go to:
    http://cs-dev.campware.org/

Note that this is just a demo site. You can make your web site look
    however you like.

Please take a look as soon as you can. We use that server for testing
purposes, but we will make sure that the site will work for the next
    five days, until Nov 4th.

Please let us know how it goes and whether you decide to go with
Campsite or not...your feedback will be very helpful to us. Thanks!

Now, I'm wondering if there is a way to easily to batch export all the
articles from one issue to multiple xml files (such as NITF) so that a page
layout program can easily import the files.

  • One other thing, I've been noticing that the navigation could use some AJAX
Razz... Okay I barely program but I've used google mail and other Ajax power
    websites.
For example, when I tried to ad a new article, perhaps instead of waiting
each page to load, somehow the new content could load right away thus making
the experience more like a thick client... Just a suggestion...

  • Thanks for the compliment!

In response to your question: yes, it would be easy to write a script to
do this sort of thing. We have an API that allows you to fetch articles
and then manipulate them however you like.

  • We definitely want to do this sort of thing. We are working on a bunch
of interface improvements for 2.4, though they arent AJAX, they will
make it easier to use. The "add article" one you suggest is one we've
been thinking about, though I'm not sure if it will make it in the next
release. Any more suggestions you have are welcome!

  • By the way, we have some rough drawings of the 2.4 interface, i'm not
sure if they will make sense to you, but here they are:

    http://code.campware.org/projects/campsite/wiki/ArticleListScreen24
    http://code.campware.org/projects/campsite/wiki/ArticleEditScreen24

the 2.4 article list screen borrows from google mail a little.
