I'd like to add that how long it takes us from beta to official release
will primarily depend on the community, esp. power users. Once 3.0 is out
(and to remind everybody, this release will bring a full rewrite of the
heart of the system, the parser), we need as many testers as possible. The
better the feedback, the quicker the release (btw, Holman jus told me in a
chat that he is already running Campsite 3.0 on his Mac, without vmware, of
course).
So if you have time, resources, please plan to help out after 8 October.
That also includes the localizers among us, for whom a special localizing
instance will be set up.
Campsite 3.0 beta1 will be out by October 8th. This is 2 weeks later than
the date we previously set and it is because of some extra details we need
to take care of. The target date for the final 3.0 release is October 31.
