[campsite-dev] Article Comments Design - Multilinguality
  • About multi-lingual support for article comments....

In the current design, when someone posts a comment to an article,
that comment will also appear in a forum. My previous thinking was
that there would be one forum for each publication. But now I am
thinking there should be one forum for each *language* in the
publication. I.e. the forums will be separated by language. For
example if you had a publication in english and french, there would
also be two separate forums - one for english, one for french.

    What do you think?

one thing that would be important, i think: phorum has a search
functionality. the *split* in forums relative to publications and languages
might want to make sure that it could still be used. meaning:

can phorum search "only in this forum" or "only in this thread"?

in which case it would be better to have:

    a) one forum for each publication
    b) one thread for each language
    c) subthread for each article

then the search could at least find keywords limited to a language inside a
    publication.

from the phorum we use i can only see that you can search by forum or all
forums. so if one forum is one publication then at least there is the
    search option for each publication.
