[campsite-dev] Attachment progress bar
  • Hello all,

I remember that Doug asked couple of weeks ago if we can add a progress bar
to the attachment function so users know how far they are. I found this
great GPL code while looking for the same thing for one of our projects.
Maybe we can add it to Campsite:

    http://bluga.net/projects/uploadProgressMeter/

You can see the demo at:

    http://php5.bluga.net/UploadProgressMeter/demo.php

The only requirement is to have HTML AJAX 0.2..5+ installed on the server.
So what do you think? Does it make sense to add it to Campsite?

i did. and from what i understand doug and raed sent the same link. in my
humble opinion (which is so weird when you write it, isn't it? why is the
IMHO so popular on our dev lists???) i think it would be great to have.
file attachment is an issue. and an upload bar does help to feel *save*
with what happens after you press send. bc i still get nervous after five
minutes sometimes when uploading 5MB. it just takes that long. fine. but
with feedback on the screen you know where you are. and the upload bars on
the browser are all really shady.

  • examples and screenshots for the PEAR classes can be found here:
    http://pear.laurent-laville.org/HTML_Progress/examples/
    and for 2.0 here:
    http://www.laurent-laville.org/index.php?mod=pear&des=progress2&act=examples

so there are many designs implemented already. i am not sure about the
developers choice in hiw own banner though Smile
