this is not good news for you.
section number 1 called X in the issue 1 can be called Y in the next
issue.
i would fetch the name of the section from the last issue (plus
displaying the section number before the section name), and the leave
the additional analyses to particular webmsters - you just cannot
predict all possible develpments similar to this one...

take a look at this, don';t know if this can help us some way... it says
how to use "split-logfile" script, which you may know about already, but
i never heard of it. i was thinking if there is a way to use it for the
combined -campsite statistics...

There is no constraint BUT the idea is that sections should maintain their
numbers in different issues, even if the name may change for different reasons.
So far all the Campsite installs I know work this way. Also, when you create a
new issue you can chose to duplicate the structure of the old one, which
preserves the sections.
