    Hi all,

I noticed that with 1.0.6, Firefox doesn't let me copy and paste in
wysiwyg editors. I get a dialogue box and a link to a pain in the ass
    howto at Mozilla.org.

    http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/securityprefs.html

Is this something to be concerned about?

I tried it and got the warning/block on my 2.2.2 site. I'm running Firefox
    1.0.6.

    Maybe it's changed in 2.3?

Have you tried it on campsite? It should work, we have special
    provisions for this bug.

2.3 has Xinha instead of HTMLArea. So cut and paste works in Firefox via a
popup. In both 2.2 and 2.3, however, shift+insert does the trick. This
    should be documented.

has bill purged your mind of all other keys save for the windoze one? if
so, get an IBM laptop, there are no windoze keys on them (not that that is
such a good thing). seriously, use "shift" and "insert" keys. remember
that small little key, up there with delete and stuff, or in the middle of
your keyboard. c'mon, Dr. Pye, you can do it Wink)))))))))))

  • Eeee ba gum! I use that key all the time but it hadn't crossed my mind
when you wrote that. INSERT is never (has never been for me anyway) used
to actually DO something on the screen, it just changes the mode of the
keyboard normally. First time I've heard it can be used for such a
    thing. Cool. My mistake.

Is the shift+insert thing a particular feature of Mozilla, or HTMLAREA,
    or what?

actually, under KDE, you can use shift+insert to paste text from klipper
