    Raed,

    I passed your RSS howtos to the ever industrious John Pye, and here are
    his comments. (I am posting your howtos only today, incidentally,
    apologees for the huge delay). I know you will have some quick answers for
    John, but maybe we could merge your two methods and have come up with the
    ultimate HOWTOs, which will be posted, I promise, ASAP.

    Quick comments on Raed's RSS package:

    * Bloglines can't find the feeds on the page. Presumably the
    containing page on ammannet.net lacks tags identifying the
    RSS feeds.
    * Firefox doesn't get a 'radar' icon on the page, probably also
    because of missing tags.
    * Headers on the feed are not correct MIME type (text/xml or
    something like that) so you can't browse the source XML correctly.
    * There are no images and no article 'intro' descriptions in the feed.
    * A client-side XSLT is a good way to ensure that people aren't
    shocked when they click on the 'RSS' icon.
    * When the campsite issue number changes, the feed will completely
    refresh. I thought that a better way to handle RSS feeds was to
    just keep popping the newset articles at the top of the feed. So
    if an issue only has one or two new articles, the articles from
    the previous issue will still show on the feed.

    I overcame these issues and generated an RSS 2.0 feed that correctly
    shows images in bloglines RSS aggregator. Haven't tested elsewhere
    though. I can bundle up that stuff at some point. Micz has an initial
    version of the code that produces my feeds.
