Re: [campsite-dev] RSS & printbox
  • Hi Paul

Thanks for the feedback. About the select all/select none thing, I think
that to make that a one-click thing would be counter-intuitve. Compare
with functionality in hotmail/yahoo when deleting emails, etc etc. Maybe
the wording could be improved though.

About the preview thing, yes, this is functionality that I still need to
sort out. I plan to forward client (browser) cookies to the cgi
executable serverside. This wont work with IP-address-based
subscriptions (I saw these in the documentation, are they actually in
use?) but it will work with normal logged-in-with-a-password users.

You're welcome to the templates. I'll zip em up and send em in. There's
just an issue with the 'max-width' text columns that I want to resolve
still, check out the link on my http://del.icio.us/jdpipe/webservers.
Also an issue with text overrunning images, but Mugur's said he'll fix
this for me for version 2.3

I'll take a look at the subscription-access stuff now, I think.

Also, short URLS... printbox doesn't work with short URLs from Campsite
yet. Will have to fix this as well.

If you use a feed reader of some sort, I'd be pleased to hear how the
campsite RSS feeds work for you. I've only been able to test with
bloglines so far, all good. RSS 2.0.

    Hi All,

Ana says her fastnews templates will be ready by tomorrow as well, so
perhaps we should go with those, or have two template sets (why not, after
    all).

As for your questions regarding IP-based subscription, that is one of the
most useful/used features of Campsite. And pritnbox had better work for
    those big buck subscribers Smile

You are probably right, but I would still like to release it this coming week, following the official release of 2.3.0 on Monday.

    Hi Sava,

I don't know if releasing the print box together with 2.3.0 on Monday is

realistic: in case John needs my help with Campsite he's stuck, because I just

have enough time to finish my 2.3.0 tasks. Anything else will have to wait. I

still have a pending email from John regarding the print box waiting for my

    answer.

John, sorry for the delay, I promice I'll answer your emails asap once we

    release 2.3.0.
