[campsite-dev] online documentation software - Newscoop Development Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

we have been searching for some software to do the documentation for
campware. most urgently for campsite and livesupport. please mail
suggestions to the dev list.

the main objectives:

a) import and export standard formats (DocBook, HTML, RTF, PDF)
b) multilinguality
c) user comments for code examples (like php.net)

what we found that looks close to what we want:

we need a demo install to find out more. michal, can you set one up at
campware.org?

we looked at that, too. but it does not support multilinguality and/or

say that it has Multilanguage Support

My own 2 cents, which at today's exchange rate is worth 1.54 euro cents...

Import/export is going to be a key requirement, because we are working
with documentation writers who are turning in their work in DocBook format
on the import side, and we'd like to be able to dump documentation either
to a file (for help/manuals, for example, or for printing manuals). So any
one of these tools we choose has to have this functionality.

but this only translates the interface and there are links for different
source codes. but not the content itself. or did i miss something?

Have a read of the fantastic php.net documentation. I think that the
ability to have users annotate documentation is a really big plus.
