[campsite-support] Problem with viewing published site
  • Hello all,

I am new to campsite and I have just installed it on my Ubuntu linux box. I can see and work on the admin interface very well but when I view the published site I get the error

"Error: The site alias was not assigned to a publication. Please create a publication and assign it the current site alias"

After I assign say "localhost" I get to see the front page but any of the links on the page do not work as they are going to a default /en/ folder which does not exist in my /var/www/ folder. Is there something I have left in my installation?

    Pls help.

    With regards,
    Nicholas

  • Hello People,
After playing around with my installation for sometime...I found the
problem to be with the configuration of the apache rewrite module in ubuntu.
Ubuntu does not do it straight up. You will need to follow this tutorial:

    http://www.devolio.com/blog/archives/228-How-to-install-APC-in-Ubuntu-7.10.html

    and
    http://josh.st/blog/2005/03/06/ubuntu-apache-and-making-mod_rewrite-happy

    Check the overides!!!
