This is about my 5th try to get 2.5.2.1 working, I have tried recently on Debian 7 & 8 but it never works. Tried again last night running Debian 7.11, no joy.
If anyone has managed to get 2.5.2.1 working can you let me know what OS and version in this thread, I really want to use the latest version but it just isnt working on Debian.
Does anyone know what the Dev team use to build and test the latest build of Airtime on? I am willing to try any Linux flavors, just don't want to waste more time with installs that fail for whatever reason.
Yo! So the long and short of it is that 8 absolutely won't work with so many under-the-hood changes to various integral parts. And since Ubuntu is based on Debian... yeah... the latest Ubuntu releases definitely won't work either.
The Airtime project is geared towards Debian Wheezy / Ubuntu Precise at best so you won't have much luck moving to RHEL or anything else. Canonical isn't ending support for Precise until May 2017, so at least there's that.
Hi Roger and thanks for the reply, I have been using Wheezy for a while with 2.5.1 but I just cant seem to get 2.5.2.1 working on it. I have loaded up a VM with Ubuntu Precise to play with tonight :)
When trying 2.5.2.1 I grab the "airtime-2.5.2.1.tar.gz" download and install, I assume the deb download on site is still older version?
Good luck! I'm in the same boat! Yeah, the repos still have 2.5.1. It's fairly solid if you manage to avoid (or can disregard?) the quirks. Fresh Wheezy installs tend to have more free RAM but if you're running on some 32 core beast, that probably doesn't matter much :)
I have only found airtime a week ago and have it running great on ubunutu Server 14.04.4 64 bit other that the restrictions with the system or the lack of documentation on what can be achieved.
I like it a lot. if only I was able to code it like I can PAL on SAM.
