How To Play A Default Stream On The Same URL As Scheduled Shows When Nothing's Scheduled

    Hi,

    I have Airtime installed to Ubuntu 14.04 & would like to know how to have a single URL/Mountpoint which either plays scheduled shows from Airtime, or a default playlist that only runs when there aren't any shows scheduled in Airtime. So that once an Airtime-scheduled show is due, it would interrupt the default playlist & go- then return to the default playlist once it's over.

    It would be a plus if the default playlist could remember where it was prior to a show & continue where it left off. I'd like for the default playlist to play a random selection of tracks, but not reset its order until it finishes all the tracks available to it, so as to prevent the likelyhood of repeating except after a long time. I imagine it could take hundreds of hours to get through the entire pool of available tracks if they weren't to repeat until they all played once, before shuffling again to run once each randomly again.

    How can I do this?

    Please advise.

    Here is a little dirty trick I came up with
    Fill your blocks that nothing is schedule with a show.
    use the url and connect from wherever you want you want

    or if you want to get your hands dirty look for one of the mod scripts and just use input harbour.

    You can use input http but it is really designed for a stream which will not fail,so if you do use input.http,be aware your logs will fill up with a log of information

    Jus
    • t divide your one day in blocks 1,2,3,4 12 hour or whatever you want
    •  repeat them to no end,
    • link them with smart dynamic  blocks  
    • now throw the stream you want on top
    • you will have a nice autodj

    The smaller the blocks the more flexibility you have to change before any block start
    This is a one time set up .

    as a precaution especially if you are using  >2.1.5 as I am ,go to the calendar and scan the date forward to say 2017.
    Your browser will move a little slower but you are guarantee you will not wake up one morning and see your calendar blank and nothing schedule
