Debian Package does not exist? - Booktype Development Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

The manual for Booktype strongly encourages the use of the auto installing package for Debian and Ubuntu.

However, this package does not exist in the repo.

Has the package not been produced as part of 2.0 final and, if so, should the manual be updated to not refer to it?

Hi Andy,

this page covers how to install the package - http://sourcefabric.booktype.pro/booktype-20-for-authors-and-publishers/_draft/_v/1.0/automated-install-on-debian-or-ubuntu-gnulinux/ but I would recommend you manual method for now because we are daily doing updates, mainly about the PDF publishing which has not be finalised yet.

Hi Andy, the Debian/Ubuntu package is available now, I have added screenshots to the chapter linked above.

For development, you are better off using git and the manual installation method, as it is easier to contribute back improvements that way, in the form of pull requests.
