We have a production system that is suffering from various audio output lag issues (2-3 minute delay in sound card output) that is really affecting our broadcast schedule. I've read 2.5.2 has resolved these and would like to upgrade but noticed there is no apt path to upgrade yet. I see that people have had issues upgrading by hand too so I'd like some advice as to how to proceed. Should I backup the DB, uninstall the deb package and manually install & restore? Or should I do a fresh 12.04 install and then run the downloaded source package installer? The various posts on this forum don't seem to provide a clear path and I'd prefer to hear some advice from the team.
I think some way in a readme or otherwise it says the installer will rmove some scripts and that the organization of files will be different.
If I am not correct I think 2,5,2 is still in release candidate state and If 2.5.1 .6 is a produciton machine then the Basic suggestion of system analysis is that you should test before you put in production. Oh by the way hat chapter is torn out of the text book.we just upgrade and hope will go well or that the OS vendor has a rollback feature
