[Solved?] Do you experts know any internet radio stream/automation software that supports ALAC/FLAC?
  • I am trying to build a radio station that uses nothing but lossless formats. Either ALAC or FLAC. I do not know why the developers cannot realize the importance of having quality sound as well as excellent tagging features of lossless formats like ALAC or FLAC. So could you kindly recommend some free or commercial software that can support ALAC or FLAC audio formats?

EDIT: No solution. Stuck with no radio station. I also got castrated by one of the mods(fascists).

"What audio formats does Airtime support?

Airtime supports playback of MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC (m4a),
    FLAC
, and MP2 audio files. Airtime can broadcast streaming MP3, OGG,
FLAC, and AAC to an Icecast or Shoutcast server (44100 Hz, Stereo or
    Mono).

No longer using Airtime or Libretime.
  • 2.5.2 enables FLAC output??
  • I think it imports flac but won't stream it without a (small) tweak in LS and (a very small tweak) in Icecast. We could hold a seance and try to contact airtime?

  • That second "FLAC" is likely a typo. It might work if the ogg.liq script was duplicated and changed to call FLAC instead. But then as you mention, icecast still wouldn't distribute it without some work there, too.
  • Icecast2 says it does flac if called correctly

  • Sally says it's not the length of the sig that matters - but the width [-X
