Is there a way to play Apple Lossless files on airtime?

I am trying to install a system like airtime for a radio station and the policy of the company is that we must not use anything lower than .m4a Apple lossless files(ALAC) for our audio files. Is there any tool available such as a java script encoder we can use to bypass this compatibility issue?
