New version of BUTT does not work with Airtime Pro; find fix here

    A note to those using BUTT on a Windows platform to connect to Airtime Pro for live broadcast.
    Newer versions are not working, the version that does work is BUTT-0.1.11-2, located here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/files/butt/butt-0.1.11-2/
    Thanks to Lucile Neden at Airtime for the assist on this. This is the version she is using, as well.

    So just to put some clarity here

    all the butt versions current and pass are listed here http://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/files/butt/

    Now

    For Windows  up to Versions http://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/files/butt/butt-0.1.13/ will work for all Icecast and shoutcast v1 and v2 (icy)

    For Linux there is a ubuntu version http://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/files/butt/butt-0.1.13/butt_0.1.13-1-0ubuntu1%7Eprecise_i386.deb/download which works for both precise and trusty
    Now here is the trick to have this work perfectly,
    • You have to use wget and then force the dependencies so that the correct lame versions is install
    • You have to ensure that if you use firewalls make sure port 80 and the relevant ports +1 are open on that machine.( do not know why)

    Please note that this is the 386 version and so I can't remember what replace multi-arch now but that's why you have to force the dependencies on 64bit machines

    1.11 and 1.12 are usually causality of drop-outs so if you use these prepare for that adverse effects

    Now people might say ,I am using it and no such things.

    I used this so long from "whappie terminated fillo" - oh! that's just to say "I used it longer than you can know" so I will soon hear your complaints.

    So hope this will assist your decisions
