I run Airtime on an Ubuntu 12.04 server. I am experiencing a problem in which intermittently and at seemingly random times, my streaming mountpoint disappears. Player widgets will stop working, and accessing the mountpoint's URL gives "The File requested could not be found". The mountpoint also disappears from the list in the Icecast2 admin page. However the stream in Airtime's admin settings still shows up green and says it is "Connected to the streaming server".
Check your internet connection and dns best to set your machine as the host.
I have a router from cis... that had cause that,I ditch it bought a cheap $10 router.Never seen that again in two years.

The server is on a university network, and as such the network is inaccessible for me to try this kind of fix. I've rebooted the server and reset some configs to defaults, and will be seeing if it alleviates the problem at all. I'm really hoping it's not a network issue.
You can fixed the IP on the computer, some network admin hates this but since it linux you have less issues to deal with,so assured your admin its okay, install a firewall on the machine and only allow what you need like web (port 80 and 443) ,ssh (use a custom port),your airtime stream port 5080.
Install icecast on the machine put on whatever port then set this local machine to that stream port. This will be your local listening and you can look at it when the other port disconnect and if it stays green, then definitely your issue is the network.Do not forward that port you just want to listen to it directly from that machine
Good Luck
