Intermittent massive distorion on Source switch

    Hey guys,

    I've just noticed a nasty bug, not sure if it's been reported before?

    I have weekly scheduled shows set up with linked playlists that play pre-recorded content. The media for each show is updated weekly using the "latest.mp3" trick.

    This works fine.

    However, some of my scheduled shows are live broadcasts where the DJ's connect and over ride the stream.

    This works fine, but when the next show with pre-recorded content begins, immediately after the live broadcast, the audio output is massively distorted.

    Replay gain is off and the MP3 files are fine.

    The only way to rectify the problem is to restart the entire airtime server.

    I should also add that this is an intermittent problem, it doesn't happen all of the time.

    Anybody else experienced this or have any suggestions as to what might be causing it?

    Hello! Does it sound like random white noise or like a music file with the wrong timing/pitch? If it's just noise, I'm curious myself! If it sounds like stretching distortion, might be a sampling mismatch. Are your sources all set to 44.1khz?
