[campsite-support] IP based Subscriptions problem
  • Hi everyone

I have a website that is runing on campsite, it's all neat and well, except one thing, IP subscriptions. I add a user, fill in all the details, insert the correct IP address, but when i access the site from that IP, articles are still locked? Should I modify some template or configure campsite in some speciall manner in order this to work? This is a little bit urgent, so any help will mean a lot.

    Thanks in advance, Vukan Negojevic

P.S. Username/Password based subscription works perfectly.

  • Use latest version of campsite without phpwrapper used in the past.

  • I'm currently working on 2.6.7 version. I'm a newbie on campsite, and although I'm planning an upgrade to current version, it could take a while. Is there any known workaround for this bug in 2.6.7?

    Thanx
  • If you are using 2.6.7 including phpwrapper, than IP based
subscription will not work. the only workaround is not to use
    phpwrapper.
Or you can upgrade to 2.6.8 which supports PHP in templates without
need of phpwrapper and IP based subscriptions work there.
Or to upgrade to 2.7.0R5 which contains all latest fixies.

The upgrade is stright forward, there are no known problems with
    upgrade between these two versions.

If you are on FreeBSD, which has 2.6.7 version in port system and you
are scared to upgrade without using ports, I can send you 2.7.1r5 port
that works on all FreeBSD versions up to 6.3.
Unfortunately latest versions of campsite are problematic to compile
on FreeBSD 7.0 (so far I had time to test it) and I expect to forget
2.x tree for later FreeBSD versions and use only 3.x versions there.
