What is it for? Will it alert me if my stream goes down? If not is there a way to accomplish this?

in /etc/monit/monitrc

add / change

set mailserver localhost
 set mail-format { from: monit@serveurdev.example.com }
 set alert user@mydomain.com

the entire system, not ;-)

but if airtime, liquidsoap, icecast, rabbitqm go down, yes !
