I would like different formatting of the text in terms of heading levels as well as different formatting for the TOC. I know how to tweak the CSS for the other outputs (ebook, PDF, etc.) but not for the HTML version. I really like how the FLOSS manuals are consistently styled and am looking to achieve something similar to that.
There is a support for this but unfortunately at the moment it means you need shell access to the machine to edit CSS file. Each book can have own CSS file with custom definitions, but at the moment this file can not be edited from Control Center.
What you can edit is global CSS file (if you go to Control Center -> Settings -> Appearance). This will change look for all the books, not a specific book. This could be solution for you.
Sorry to reopen an old topic but it covers a problem I'm trying to solve and which you've partly answered.
I have shell access to my BookType server, but am having trouble finding which CSS file to edit to add to/change the styles available in the chapter editor. Can you please advise where (in the web app file tree) I can find a book's custom CSS file?
The exact path for CSS depends on how you serve your static files (the virtualhost definition should indicate this) and whether you have multiple Booktype instances with different design requirements on the server.
