Redundant Metadata Updates
  • Hello! Upgraded to 2.4.1 and seem to have an issue with redundant metadata updates in the Icecast Playlist Log. The same song appears about two to four times rather than simply once. Anyone know what's wrong?

    Hey Roger,
another user talked about this issue a few weeks/months ago.
I try to search for the discussion. I think there's already a but-ticket created.
    cheers

  • Hey! That's what I thought but I can't find it anywhere...
  • Hey, how are you currently getting the icecast history?
  • Anyone find the bug ticket for this? And any ideas on how to hot patch well before 2.4.2+?
  • Here's an example of the craziness. Sometimes it'll do this just twice. This one happens to be extra redundant.

Notice it's not sending independent "Metadata song" and "Metadata title" info, too. Should also note this is Icecast 2.3.3(KH)

Did you write the logs.xsl file yourself? I don't have this file. Maybe you could send it over so I can see what it's doing?

There is a much better playout history page now for Airtime 2.5.0, maybe that could be used by you instead of this logs file?
  • Nope, it's just the default from Icecast 2.3.3. Did configure it for port 80 rather than 8000... maybe that threw you off? :)

Oh OK, I have Icecast 2.3.2 and there isn't any logs.xsl file in the admin section.
  • Naomi -- did ya find the Icecast Playlist Log section? Any ideas on the exact culprit here? Is it a Liquidsoap bug or something internal to Airtime? Guess I should also note that while I "upgraded" to Airtime 2.4.1, I did so using a clean automated install on a fresh Debian 7 server.

  • Hey Naomi! Did you find the culprit(s) yet? Can't find a ticket and would very much like to help squash this bug for 2.5.2... :)
  • This regression is hyper annoying b-(
  • Is this fixed in 2.5.2?
