Getting Started Questions
  • I am just getting started with Airtime and REALLY want it to work for obvious reasons...

Let me explain my entire setup so that you can understand my setup and how we want to work.

A friend of mine and myself are running a DUO radio program, Brian and Marty Radio http://www.bmiradio.com

We stream right now from winamp/shoutcast and we use station playlist creator software to generate our m3u logs.

We play song, sweeper, song, sweeper, etc etc. I come from a commercial radio background and with the help of my friends we have managed to make our station sound as good as we can right now.

We have a windows 7 pc streaming winamp/shoutcast to http://www.listen2myradio.com and out to listeners from bmiradio.com.

When we go 'LIVE' from our studio at my friends house, we have 2 mics, a mixer board and connected are a few pc's for music beds, sound fx etc and it is all fed through one line into the back of the pc, into shoutcast/winamp out to bmiradio.com

We are looking into airtime to replace winamp/shoutcast because it seems like it will be a more solid solution than using windows 7 and winamp. Winamp crashes in the middle of the night etc and is not a longterm solution for us right now.

What can we do with Airtime to achieve this: Import m3u or change 'Station Playlist Creator' so that the format of the playlist is 'whatever-works-with-airtime', be able to 'pause' airtime, do our on air thing play bed music play callers sound fx etc from our pcs through our mixing board and go right back to the airtime automation system? We need to simply pause or tell airtime NOT to play the next song or element in the playlist so that we can go live.

    How can we achieve this?

    Hi,

Sorry but you have all wrong ;-)

First : Airtime is an Gnu/Linux application (no Windows or Os X here), If you want to use it you need a ubuntu or debian machine (virtual or not)

Second : for the moment the "sweepers" are not geared by Airtime (but hacking it is possible and documented on this forum)

Third : You can't import playlist from external source for the moment (perhaps in a near future)

And for you lives sessions, it's an hardware problem, not software
