What am I doing wrong here?

I've installed Debian onto a VM machine with no desktop using the latest ISO

Installed Sudo

Installed Gdebi

Ran apt-get update

When I try run: sudo gdebi airtime-easy-setup.deb

I get: Gdebi, file not found: airtime-easy-setup.deb

Is there something I'm missing? Sorry if it's something stupid.

that's only an advice, but prefer this way to install airtime :

P.S. : doc is for 2.3 but only 2.2.1 is available for the moment, the way to install Airtime is the same...

Yes tried it that way a couple of times but keep getting stuck at

airtime: depends: libmp3lame0 but it is not installable

Had a quick search on forums and cant see anyone having the same issue :/

are you on debian or ubuntu ?
you must active repositories
all is explained on the manual, read it ;-)

I'm on Debian.

I know, I don't want to be a total annoying noob but I've honestly spend about 6 hours on this and am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I've followed (afaik) the manual to the letter but clearly I'm missing something. I think now all I need is lame and I'm set!

Does anyone know which res its on and the exact name?

You may have guessed Linux - not what I studied.

If you are following these instructions:

http://en.flossmanuals.net/airtime-en-2-3/easy-setup/

You need to be in the same directory as the .deb file for the gdebi command to work.

I'm an idiot. Just realised during my 5 attempts at the automatic install, I never installed

deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main

Have it working fine now, still a pity I never got that easy install going!
