Problems installing Airtime - Airtime Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

Greetings, im issues that I'm not able to solve. Followed some preperation guides, failed the install, tried to reinstall but still no success.

Install gives me bunch of errors, still somehow web client shows up, but things ain't working.

I attached few files, a picture about web client and installation log as .txt file.

how did you install airtime ?
have you verified your hosts configuration ?
you must validate your airtime-vhost into apache too :D

Well first I tried some easy-setup, which didn't work, then did some preperations added some sources and did "apt-get install airtime".

I think I've got rid of vhost error, just want it to run on subdomain example (radio.mydomain.com) and not remove default apache virtualhost.

I can see the web client well, can log in etc, but the its not functional.

EDIT: Well one thing I've noticed is that some URL's are wrong, its trying to access my default web server, not the subdomain, example ( http://localhost:80/api/status/format/json/api_key/%%api_key%% ).

But I want it to be on subdomain, does this have any effect it not working ?

Also I have htaccess password protection currently on my default /var/www directory.

I think I have fixed the issue, no idea what I had going in my mind, frustration I think but fix was simple. Had to modify config files change 'localhost' -> 'radio.mydomain.com'.

Still have one question on mind.

Is airtime meant for streaming for 24/7 ? I mean if have to create show all the time its not probably going to work isn't it ?

I have Icacast server set up with fallback mount, so I could connect with Edcast ( winamp plugin ) to my server and stream for there if needed ( mostly for microphone usage ).

I had problems with previous source clients ( When song is switching, stream stops for a sec ) so I thought I would give Airtime a shot.

Okay I got continuous stream somewhat workin and I'm having new problem, I can't say that audio is choppy but can hear some "static" noises in background.

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz

Liquidstream uses less that 10% of cpu.

What may cause this ?

Nope what ? ( The fact that it isn't meant for 24/7 stream, if thats the case what would you suggest as an

alternative ? )

Only 1 gig atm, its running on VPS, but theres about 300mb free still, also noticed that static noise appears only on particular songs, not on all of them.

in this case two reasons :

bad file encoding (frequency encoded >44100)

bad web transfert (try ftp)

Yes, not all songs are like that, but sometimes it still might get choppy, currently available ( http://imperial-ls.eu:8000/radio / http://imperial-ls.eu:8000/radio.m3u )
