Can't install airtime on Ubuntu 10.04 x64 vps for an installation error of RabbitMQ
  • Hi all,

    sorry for my horrible English.

    I'm installing, on a ubuntu 10.04 x64 vps airtime 2.2 easy-setup.

During the installation the following errors:

    Starting rabbitmq-server: FAILED - check /var/log/rabbitmq/startup_log, _err
    rabbitmq-server.
invoke-rc.d: initscript rabbitmq-server, action "start" failed.

    On the log I found:

    most /var/log/rabbitmq/startup_log

  • Sorry, at the end of /var/log/rabbitmq/startup_log I found:

    "broker running"

The server is a ubuntu 10.04 x64 server on a virtual private server.

The server installs only the basic services, before the easy-setup installation.

    Thanks
  • SOLVED:

I've upgrade to 12.04 and all work perfectly :)
  • I just tried installing on a clean 32bit Ubuntu 12.04 VPS, and it hangs during the install process at:

    Processing triggers for man-db ...
    Setting up airtime-easy-setup (2.2.1-1) ...
    Installing Sourcefabric package signing key...
    OK
Setting up Airtime for Europe/Moscow timezone...
Setting Icecast and Airtime domain names to creek...
    Setting defaults for non-interactive installation...

... the same thing happens with easy setup or "apt-get install airtime" (one the pre-requisites are installed).

    Any suggestions?

PS - I installed successfully on a well used Ubuntu 12.04 32bit install on a Laptop with Ubuntu GUI running, so I'm kind of bummed I've hit this roadblock on a fresh install on the VPS.

VPS installation are not really a good solution
a lot of providers doing minimal server install
