New issue on Airtime 2.2.0 - Airtime Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

Hi all,

Been using Airtime for many, many versions and upgraded each time a new version has come out right up to 2.2.0 - all of a sudden, some mp3 files are being chopped off. So for example I have a jingle which is 5 seconds long, it plays the first 4.5 seconds and then starts the next track, "chopping off" the end of the previous track.

I've not experienced this before - anybody have any ideas what may be causing it?

You can hear for yourself if you listen to www.chepstowradio.com - click on Listen Live (the stream will stop at midnight and then start again at 6am GMT). After every 2 music tracks there is a jingle, and it seems to be most obvious on those jingle tracks.

this is not a crossfade option not well define ?

I haven't configured the crossfade option, but that's a good point and I will check it out - thank you :)

OK, I have had a look.

Crossfade option is not defined, ie the value is 0

**However**

I have just found that the Cue Out settings are wrong on all my files.

So for example, where a jingle or a song is 00:03:00.00 in length, the cue out is set to 00:02:59.59

This seems to have been applied randomly to some but not all of the files in the library.

OK, have had a further look - it's not the cue out (I think that's just a result of rounding the numbers).

The plot thickens!

Hi Alex,

We've confirmed this bug. Do you mind try applying the fix and confirming it before we release 2.2.1?

Please try the following:

https://github.com/sourcefabric/Airtime/blob/master/airtime_mvc/application/models/Schedule.php#L687

On line 687 replace

'independent_event' => true

with

'independent_event' => false.

Save your changes and run

sudo service airtime-playout restart

Hi, didn't quite understand the instructions I'm afraid (I don't understand github)

I edited the following files:

/usr/share/airtime/application/models/Schedule.php

/var/lib/airtime/tmp/airtime_mvc/application/models/Schedule.php

and changed line 687 as you mention above.

Was that the right thing to do?

OK thanks. You seemed to suggest that I could try the fix before 2.2.1 though - but I didn't understand the github stuff. Could you lay it out in words what I need to do?

You would only need to do it for

/usr/share/airtime/application/models/Schedule.php

And the changes are automatically applied. Did this resolve this issue?

I should also say that I have built a new server, installed Airtime 2.2.0 on it and the problem has reoccured with exactly the same files / mp3s.
