i like the article gallery in the 3.5.5 zen theme - is their a way of using that with 4.0.0 The New Custodian

There is very similar article gallery in New Custodian, just the position is different - it is now placed in the top of article right-hand sidebar (you can of course change positions of elements through templates but would need to adjust the styling.

The difference between Zen* and New Custodian article galleries is that latter uses new Newscoop feature, image slideshows. Using this, you can group several images (even videos) into one set. More on slideshows you can find here: https://wiki.sourcefabric.org/display/NsLingo/Slideshows

So you can create slideshow set in Newscoop, and then how you present this set - as slider, as gallery, or somethnig third - it's up to you
