    Hi Mark, this is a known bug in the New Custodian, see http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CS-4166

    To put an article on the front page, you can use a Featured Article List. See 'Featured Article Lists' here:

    http://en.flossmanuals.net/newscoop-4-journalists-en-4-0/the-sidebar/

    and here:

  • Hello Mark,

    New Custodian (are Rockstar) were developed with the idea to use new Newscoop 4.0 features - image renditions, featured article lists, related articles list etc.  And this is why frontpage template is using featured articles list. We don't have other 4.0 themes at the moment, however next week we will announce new theme most suitable for bloggers. Articles are chronologically ordered in this new theme.

    It is possible to change New Custodian or Rockstar templates to use 'Show on frontpage/show on sectionpage' logic.

    In template front-topstories.tpl you can change this list_articles command

    {{ list_playlist_articles length="4" name="Front page" }}

    with this

    {{ list_articles length="4" ignore_section="true" constraints="onfrontpage is on" }}

    and that should use built-in switches instead of featured article list.

  • Hi Daniel

    This has been a problem since March according to the log and also includes rockstar

    we dont use the Featured Article Lists (similar to the old topics) whch our journalists didnt like and got me to remove

    I use zen on one of our 3.5.5 sites - but that has problems with newscoop 4 i have read

    are there any themes that do work

  • Thanks for that

    i did try that but it didnt work - then i realised i did not change the    {{ /list_playlist_articles }}      at the end

    cheers

    mark
